The QMX Product line of internal gear drive units has been designed for 1 to 4 quadrant operations which means they can be used both as pumps and motors.
However, that alone does not suffice to satisfy the ever-increasing demands of machine, apparatus, and vehicle manufacturers. It is also crucial to ensure that internal gear drive units’ maximum possible rpm rating of approximately 10 500 min-1 is significantly higher than that of axial piston units. Furthermore, internal gear drive units provide exceptionally high dynamic qualities and are extremely robust and durable because they have been engineered without anti-friction bearings. This is why they have such a long working life. Depending on their utilization factor these units can cope with up to 20 000 operating hours.
As a result of these properties you can create so-called pump controls that consume significantly less energy compared to conventional solutions using fixed displacement pumps and valve controls. Energy is utilized in line with demand and in certain applications such as elevators, presses, cranes and the like it is even possible to recover energy. This not only conserves energy but in many cases also does away with expensive pilot and/or control valves. The entire system can thus be greatly simplified.
Typical applications are injection-molding machines, flight simulators, test beds, and many more.

In addition, pump controls generate considerably less heat loss which realized that the volume of oil used – and consequently the entire hydraulic unit including the cooler – can be significantly smaller. There are applications, such as rudder controls in ships, which involved oil volume reductions of 90% using QMX based solutions. At the same, time energy savings of up to 60% were achieved.
QXM units are available in a pressure range of up to 400 bar. A highlight is the high-speed version of the QXM drive unit. QXM drive units are characterized by great torsional stability. This property is of particular significance above all for applications such as saws, ventilators and compressors. Due to the fact that this product enables you to create a direct drive it offers numerous simple, compact and cost-effective package solutions.
