High flow rates of up
to 600 l/min can be
handled in a controlled
manner with the SVC25
proportional valve

The SVC25 is a load-sensing proportional valve of a sandwich design suitable for high flow rates of up to Qmax = 600 l/min with a correspondingly high operating pressure of pmax = 420 bar.

Particular attention has been paid to power density, function, and versatility with regard to its various applications. Its good proportionality and stability characteristics are due to the special geometry along the control flanges of the individual valve pistons which ensures that high flow rates are kept under control.

A large number of well known customers already use this valve in their applications.

A manually operated version is also available in addition to the models with hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls. Manual operated versions work in a similar manner to hydraulically actuated pressure reducing valves. The advantage of this kind of actuation is that the leverage forces are low and that the leverage lengths involved can be kept short.

Manual operation serves as a direct proportional control of the directional valve – a feature frequently required for winch controls, for example – or as an emergency hand lever. The advantage of this is that with electrical activation the hand lever remains in its idle position. On the one hand this provides added security and on the other hand hysteresis is kept to a minimum.

These valves are also used in large-scale caterpillar cranes, ship cranes, wheel-loaders (see illustration), earth-drilling equipment and rail-mounted cranes for example. Sensitive and precise load control is critical in these types of applications, and can be taken for granted with Bucher Hydraulics’ proportional valves.

Various input modules are available for different kinds of pumps such as variable or fixed displacement pumps.

If required, we can integrate optional features such as peak pressure reducing valves or a pilot pressure supply unit which can be switched off and which when activated also disengages the manual operation function (= safety circuit).

Consumer modules provide even more additional operations – such as ancillary anti-shock or anti-cavitation valves, or a combination of both, which can be adjusted independently of each other in work connections A and B.

Upstream two-way pressure compensators offer the advantage of a pressure cut-off (A and B sides separately).

Further options include electrically-proportionally adjustable pressure cut-offs.

SAE flange connectors are also available in addition to threaded connectors (conforming to DIN 3852).

Flow control performance even at high volumetric flow rates. During the design phase particular attention was paid to low flow resistance and the resulting low number of pressure drops. The modular system provides an ideal solution for customization to meet specific demands (and/or applications).
