Bucher Hydraulics has enhanced the frequency drive power unit "Saturn alpha", operational now for more than 12 years, with a regenerative drive system. With this system up to 30% of the potential energy can be recovered and reused. The energy efficiency of the power unit is increased considerably.

Modernisation

The first system of this type has been in continuous operation successfully for more than a year at the factory of a well-known German car manufacturer. There are often three shift operations and therefore reliability and availability are absolutely necessary. Even a minor disturbance can affect the whole production process.

New installation

Another system was commissioned recently at the modern production facility "Hydro Valley" of Bucher Hydraulics AG in Neuheim, Switzerland. Here, a further innovation was introduced to avoid costly motor contactors: This safety function is now realised by the frequency inverter with specific software (TÜV certified). This installation can be visited at anytime on request.

Fast installation

A fast installation and start up is ensured in both cases by all the components being preset and built into a single cabinet. The system can cover the entire spectrum, from a standard passenger lift up to a heavy freight lift with a tandem unit.
