Outstanding Cooperation
Confirms Our Technology
Leadership

A market lead by reacting quickly
to a new standard.

The new DSV-A3 auxiliary safety valvefor hydraulic elevators.

On January 1, 2012 a new standard comes into force, raising the level of elevator safety. Measures must be implemented to prevent a person from being trapped between the car and the door opening on the landing. New elevators must therefore be fitted with a protective device that immediately stops the car if it moves unintentionally with any door open.

This standard gave the elevator market a new challenges, because it is very difficult - especially with traction (i.e. rope) elevators - to meet all the conditions.

Bucher Hydraulics was involved early and proactively in interpreting the standard and was therefore able to make a good assessment of the general requirements for certification. Last year, we worked very intensively on finding a solution. Thanks to excellent cooperation between Research & Development, Engineering & Applications and Sales, a slimmed down and production-ready solution has been developed. It was type-approved by TÜV SÜD on November 18, 2010 and just a day later it was advertised with banners and flyers at the elevator exhibition in Milan.

Our "surprise" was successful, and so far no other elevator builder has been able to present a type-approval certificate. The interested parties also include some of our competitors, who want to buy the valve.

Working with well-known control-system manufacturers and partners, we are now developing a comprehensive solution so that elevator builders can buy a complete system.

Once again, with great commitment and interdisciplinary cooperation, we have been able to deploy innovative products at the right time to live up to our reputation as a technology leader.
